Although Christ was without sin, and therefore had no need to be baptized, He was our perfect example and was baptized by John to fulfill all righteousness. He wanted to show us how important it is to be born again of water, and by so doing, demonstrated that He was willing to submit to the will of the Father to carry out the proper order of things. I wanted warm light to fall upon the Savior’s face and for His heavenward gaze to have an expression of obedience and love for His father in this painting.
Simon Dewey has quietly sought to celebrate the life and mission of Jesus Christ. His artistic journey began in London, England as a freelance illustrator. In 1997 he entered the world of fine art with the release of "He Lives".
