Fans of historical fiction will enjoy this World War II tale set
in 1942 in Thundersley, Suffolk, England. A young man shows
up at Westleigh Farm, home of the Field family, demanding to
be taught how to be a farmer but reluctant to reveal anything
about himself. When a wing of Thundersley Hall, the local
manor house, is destroyed by the bomb of a German spy, the
Ministry of War arrests Violet Field. It s up to her daughters,
Patricia and Eleanor, to work out the connection between
their new farmhand and the enemy agent. Romance fans will
appreciate not one but two romantic relationships in Fields of
Glory. Eleanor falls in love with the farmhand, while Patricia
takes a liking to an American GI who is temporarily stationed
at a local encampment. There are happy endings for all, but
plenty of drama in the meantime.
