Does Seagull Book sell eBooks?

While we are working to develop this option, it is not yet available but will be in the near future.

Do you match your competitor's offers?

Do I have to create an account to place an order?

You do not need to have a SeagullBook.com account to order. On the "Checkout: My Account" screen, you can checkout as a guest by clicking on the green "Checkout Now" button.

Why was my card declined when I have sufficient funds available?

As part of our security features, SeagullBook.com attempts to validate your billing address at the time you submit your order. If the address you entered does not match the address of the cardholder, the transaction will decline.

My card was declined, so why does my account show a charge?

If a transaction is declined because of an address mismatch, the hold on the funds will remain on your card until your bank removes the authorization. As a result, the amount may be subtracted from your available balance, and will show on your account and look like an actual charge. Most banks will remove these holds within 3-7 days.

Can I order online and pick up my order at a store to avoid incurring shipping charges?

Unfortunately we do not currently offer a site-to-store option. You can arrange to have your internet order shipped to a store close to you, but we would still need to charge shipping in order to cover our cost for doing so.

Why won't the website accept my login?

In June of 2009, we removed our old Seagull Book website and replaced it with the current one. The new website runs on a different system from the old one and consequently does not accept the old logins and passwords. If you created your account prior to June of 2009, you will need to create a new one for use with our current website.

Does Seagull Book offer franchise opportunities?

Seagull Book is owned and operated by Deseret Management Corporation, a company owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and as such does not franchise.

I have a manuscript that I want to submit. Where do I send it?

Seagull Book is not a publisher, but a retailer only. For publishing consideration, you will need to contact Covenant Communications or Deseret Book Publishing.

I have a product that I want to sell in your stores. What do I do?

Does Seagull Book offer wholesale discounts?

Seagull Book is a business to customer retailer, and as such does not offer wholesale discounts.

How do I sign up to receive your monthly mailer?

You can do this by contacting the Internet Staff. with your mailing address.

Is Seagull Book affiliated with Seagull Books?

Seagull Books is a publishing company based in India and has no connection to Seagull Book. You can contact Seagull Books by performing an internet search for "Seagull Books India."

What is your return policy for purchases made online?

You may return any item purchased at SeagullBook.com as long as it meets the following conditions:

Returned merchandise must be received by SeagullBook.com within 30 days of the initial shipment.

Merchandise must be in re-salable condition (clean, no crimped pages or broken spines) For clothing, tags must remain intact and the garment free of stains or dirt.

Due to copyright laws; CDs, DVD's, Blu-Ray Discs, and software can be returned only if unopened. If the item you received is sealed in shrink-wrap, this must remain unopened and intact.


You do not need to ask our permission to return an item if it meets the above conditions. If you need to return merchandise due to a manufacturer defect or error in shipping, please contact the internet staff to receive a paid FedEx return label. When returning product, please indicate the reason for your return on the reverse side of the shipment's packing slip and include it in the box. If you no longer have the packing slip, please include a note with your contact information, order number, and reason for return.

SeagullBook.com cannot be responsible for lost or damaged returns. For your protection, you may wish to send your return via FedEx, UPS, or insured mail. We will issue a refund to your account, less the original shipping charge only after receiving your return. Please allow two to three weeks for returns to be processed.

Can I return my online order to a Seagull Book store?

Yes. All of our stores will accept returns of online orders as long as they meet the standards detailed above in our Return Policy. Please make sure to print out a copy of your email receipt and bring it with you when making a return to a store. If you no longer have this information, you can receive a new email receipt by contacting the internet staff.

I am interested in working at Seagull Book, how do I apply?

Print an application by clicking here and turn it in at the Seagull Book where you wish to apply. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to view and print this form. The Reader can be downloaded at no charge from Adobe's web site.
